2016 is the Monkey year. The first day of Chinese New Year falls on the 8th of February, I celebrated the most traditional Chinese holiday with my friends on the 7th.
We made dumplings all together, instead of buying pre-made dumpling dough, we made everything from scratch, it surely took a lot of effort and time, but to celebrate Chinese New Year in the most traditional way is very meaningful to all of us, especially because most of us live very far away from our hometown.
If you are interested in making dumplings, you can check my recipe here: Pork Dumplings , I made the one with Chinese cabbage and mushroom.
Do you guys still remember Skpyer? He joined us as well!
In addition, we also had Chinese pancake with spring onion (葱油饼),
Braised pork with soy sauce (红烧肉),

Rice pudding with red bean paste (八宝饭).
I wish you all have a healthy, prosperous and happy Monkey year!
